Privacy notice
Last updated 4 October 2026
This notice explains what Creatr collects, why, who processes it for us, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. Creatr is operated by Ajay Shenoy, a sole proprietor based in Tokyo, Japan (“we”). Contact: support@creatr.app.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, your name if you give one, and, if you sign in with Google, your Google account's name and email.
- Your videos and what we make from them: the video you upload or the YouTube video you link, its audio track, a transcript of the speech, the moments our AI selects, the clips we render, their thumbnails, and any edits you save.
- YouTube connection (optional): if you connect a channel, its name, picture and ID, and an access token that lets us upload the clips you choose to publish. For each clip you post, its YouTube link, when it posted, whether YouTube restricted or removed it, and its view, like and comment counts. We keep daily view, like and comment totals for your posted clips so your dashboard can show trends; the totals stay after a clip is deleted and are removed with your account.
- Service records: processing status, error codes, the cost of processing, which emails we sent you, a record of what you do in the app (such as adding a video or approving a clip) that we use to fix problems and improve Creatr, and security records such as hashed rate-limit counters. These stay inside Creatr: we do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics.
Why we use it
To provide the service you ask for: to sign you in, process your videos into clips, show them to you, publish the ones you choose, email you when processing finishes, when a post fails or YouTube restricts or removes a posted clip, and about your account (a welcome, running out of credits, a lost YouTube connection, and security alerts such as a changed password), keep the service secure and within its capacity, and meet legal obligations. Under GDPR our basis is the contract with you; for security and abuse prevention it is our legitimate interest. We do not sell your data and do not use your videos to train AI models.
Who processes it for us
| Provider | What it does |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database and sign-in (servers in the United States) |
| Cloudflare | Private file storage (R2), support email routing, and a bot check on the sign-in page (Turnstile, covered by the Turnstile Privacy Addendum) |
| Modal | Runs the processing of your videos |
| OpenRouter, with the model providers DeepInfra, Alibaba Cloud, Relace and Groq | Speech-to-text transcription and selecting the best moments. They receive the audio or transcript only for that request. |
| FastSaverAPI | Downloads a YouTube video when you paste a link |
| Resend | Sign-in, account and notification emails |
| Google (YouTube Data API) | Sign in with Google, and publishing to your channel when you ask |
| Stripe (Link) | Takes payment for paid plans as the reseller of record, including sales tax. Creatr never sees your card number. |
| Vercel | Hosts the website |
These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. We rely on their contractual safeguards for international transfers.
Google and YouTube data
Creatr's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We request only permission to upload videos to your channel and to read your channel's name and picture and the videos Creatr posted there, and we use them only to publish the clips you choose and to show you how those clips are doing (whether YouTube restricted them, and their view, like and comment counts). By connecting YouTube you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's use of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. You can disconnect in Settings, which revokes our access, or remove access at any time from your Google account permissions.
How long we keep it
- An unfinished upload is removed after 24 hours.
- Your original video is deleted 7 days after it arrived. Its audio track, its transcript, and the short transcript snippets kept with each clip are deleted 30 days after the video arrived. After the 7 days, clips can still be downloaded; a clip from a public link can still be changed (we fetch the public video again for that edit), and a clip from an uploaded video can be changed after you upload the video again.
- Each clip — its video, thumbnail, title and details — and the list of selected moments are deleted 90 days after they were made. A clip you posted to YouTube keeps a small record after that — its title, YouTube link, post date and view counts — until you delete its source video or your account; its video, thumbnail and transcript snippet still go at 90 days. A source video with nothing left then shows as Expired. When you update a clip, the previous version is deleted after 7 days. A 5-second sample of a Look, made on the Themes page, is deleted after a day.
- When you delete a clip you can undo it for 20 seconds; after that its files and details are deleted within 15 minutes.
- When you delete a video or your account, its files and records (including its activity history) are deleted, usually within minutes, or as soon as any work still running on it stops. When an account is deleted we email you a confirmation and then forget the address. Encrypted database backups are kept for 7 days and then deleted.
- To keep the free plan fair, when an account is deleted we keep a one-way scrambled fingerprint of its email inbox (never the address itself) for 90 days, so free credits can't be claimed again by re-joining. Accounts that share one inbox (for example name+1@gmail.com and name@gmail.com) share one free allowance.
- Aggregate cost records with no personal information may be kept longer for accounting.
Cookies
We use only cookies that are strictly necessary: to keep you signed in, and briefly while you connect YouTube. There are no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is nothing to opt out of.
Your rights
You can see, correct, download and delete your data yourself: edit your name in Settings, use Download my data, and Delete account. Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information), you may also ask us to restrict or object to processing, or complain to your data protection authority. Email support@creatr.app and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
Your files are stored privately and are only reachable through links that expire after 15 minutes. Each account's data is isolated from every other account's at the database level. YouTube tokens are encrypted at rest.
Children
Creatr is not for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data; if you believe a child has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we make a material change, we will say so in the app before it takes effect and update the date above.
